A Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branch in the Neillsville, Wisconsin area partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to honor a local veteran with a service dog in collaboration with Military Makeover with Montel. The event was held at The Highground Veterans Memorial Park. Fairway and AWI came together to award a deserving veteran with a service dog from Custom Canines Service Dog Academy.
Mortgage planner Josh Kilty was thrilled to participate in this great event, saying:
“It was a unique opportunity to be a part of something that is going to be broadcast on national TV, but it didn’t measure up to being present to honor a veteran honoring another veteran and then Fairway getting to honor him with the ceremony and a service dog. All this being done and represented at The Highground made it quite a bit more special. This goes down as one of the best moments of being a Fairway employee. It will be treasured and remembered forever.”
Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.
